Hi, I’m Elise Zbar, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), with more than 15 years of nursing experience.
My journey in healthcare began at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where I developed a strong foundation in patient-centered care. Over the years, I’ve worked across various areas of nursing — from pediatrics to public health — always guided by a commitment to compassion, safety, and advocacy.
My academic path has been shaped by a passion for both learning and teaching. I earned a Master of Science in Nursing Education from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2018, followed by a Postgraduate Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Mount Saint Mary College in 2024. These degrees have allowed me to expand my clinical skills and deliver advanced, evidence-based care to patients with complex needs — all while emphasizing communication, education, and empowerment.
Today, as the founder of Elise Zbar Family Nurse Practitioner, PLLC, I specialize in in-home wound care, focusing on the treatment of pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, and diabetic foot wounds. My approach combines clinical excellence with genuine human connection, ensuring patients feel safe, supported, and involved in their healing journey. I’m honored to have been named a 2025 Top Nurse in New York State and one of America’s Top Nurses — a reflection of the care and dedication I bring to every patient I serve.
